What we’ve been doing…

Art

Year 2 have been exploring painting animals and their habitats. First, they used water colours to paint British wildlife in their habitat. We then looked at Australian Aboriginal artwork and the children used poster pain with cotton buds to create their own animal pictures.

DT

Year 2 enjoyed their DT unit on bread. Their design brief was to design and make an interesting bread roll that had raisins for decorations. The children practiced their skills of weighing, measuring and kneading and then used these to make their final products. The children were so proud of their bread rolls and they tasted delicious!

Gold Balloon Reward

Year 2 enjoyed their first Gold Balloon Reward on Friday. The children chose to have a teddy bear's picnic and movie. They enjoyed sandwiches, biscuits and crisps which they shared with their cuddly friends. We have had a super start to the year and the children have settled brilliantly into their new class. Well done Year 2, we can't wait to see what you choose for your next reward!
