Safeguarding & Child Protection
Nothing is more important to us than the safety and welfare of our pupils. We take rigorous steps to ensure that children stay safe and do not come to any harm. We work closely with parents/carers and a range of professional external agencies in order to secure this.
Elland Church of England prides itself on being a caring community and has a highly experienced, competent and effective pastoral lead in Mrs Hoyle. She has a number of responsibilities and roles to play throughout school including parent liaising, family support and family learning to name a few. Alongside Miss Hartley and Miss Richardson, Mrs Hoyle is also a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Mrs Hoyle and a member of the SLT are available for parents and families in the playground before school starts. Having the team easily available for parents allows the school day to start promptly. These members of staff wear hi-vis jackets so can be easily spotted.
